Children's Psychology Assessment
First Steps
Following an enquiry from parents/guardians about our services at the Childrens Natural Environment Assessment Practice (CNEAP), we suggest that parents/guardians book a consultation meeting with our team. This meeting will allow our team to gather information prior to scheduling any child assessments. Members of our multidisciplinary team will be able to determine what level of support your child may require and in what capacity.

Initial Consultation
Booking in for a consultation meeting with the Childrens Natural Environment Assessment Practice allows our team to gather information prior to scheduling any assessments. If you have any concern in regards to your child’s development, this meeting can be very helpful in allowing our team to determine the best way to support your child and family.
This Consultation can take place either – in our Practice / Zoom Call / Phone Call. Please let us know which would best suit you as parents/guardians
What a Consultation with CNEAP Involves:
- Parents are welcomed into the practice to meet with a member of our multidisciplinary team who will review all existing reports. These reports could include reports from your child’s paediatrician, an assessment from a Speech Therapist or perhaps a recommendation from a GP.
- We will liaise with other relevant professionals e.g. GP (as appropriate). During this initial consultation advice is given to parents regarding assessment pathways, various therapies and some supportive material will be provided which can be worked on at home.
- We will also liaise with pre-schools, schools and other services. For example, we can make contact with your child’s current childcare facility which will allow us to gain further perspective into their needs. In some cases, parents may not have any prior reports and instead are seeking support for a concern that is playing on their minds. This meeting can be a really helpful starting point. Either a Psychologist, Early Years Specialist or a Practice Director will conduct this meeting. Where necessary, more than one professional may attend this meeting
- We can help to guide you with regards to pre-school and school places and we can also provide you with information regarding additional supports your child may or may not need before, during and after school.
School Visit
A school visit may be required by parents as part of the initial screening process or it may be needed in order to provide advice around the route of assessment(s) or therapy.
Note: Additional sessions / assessments may be recommended by our team during the assessment, which could result in additional fees. Parents will be informed throughout all stages of the assessment and permission & assessment fee information will be available to parents at all times.
